Anticipation…

Just got off the phone with my sister tonight and she sounds tired and anxious. I hate knowing my sister is tired and anxious 🙁  But it’s all for a good thing. My nephew is scheduled to join the outside world in 8 days!!!! I call him Deauxoui…he’s the 2nd kid…heh…get it?

Seems like the time has flown so fast since she told us he was on the way, but the closer it gets to the big day, the

slower

time

passes.

I guess I shouldn’t talk. I’m not the one caring full-time for an active 2 year old while carrying around a now estimated 8 lb baby in my abdomen. GAH!

Actually, the entire family is on edge. Dad was in Virginia visiting my grandma this weekend for her birthday…complete with a plan in place to rush to the airport and leave his truck with my uncle should Deaxoui decide to make an early arrival.

My mom has an overnight bag packed and ready to go as she is going to be on Alaina Marie duty while my sister’s in the hospital, and her hubby is back and forth between home and the hospital. Keeps asking me, “How long do you think they want me to stay? I’m worried Alaina won’t go to sleep without her mom home…it’s going to tear me up if she cries for her mommy. Are you going to be in town? Can you come by sometimes? Just in case?”

And, knowing that in these ice storms and crummy snow my sister’s not been out much lately, I told her not to hesitate to call me any time during the day if she needs a break to chat. Trouble is, my phone goes off while I’m in a meeting, rather than let it go to voicemail and call her when I’m done like normal, I run out the door like my pants are on fire just in case she’s calling me because she’s in labor.

Why the hell would she call me when she’s in labor? Shouldn’t she call her husband? Or the doctor? Yeah…I’m on edge too.

Soooooooonnnnnnnnnn!
