Redecorating…

Spackled, smooth-coated, and primed the upstairs bathroom. After years of regret after painting my bathroom the wrong shade of purple, and on top of it, using paint that does not repel mildew, I’ve begun the process…

It’s important to note I painted it about 8 years ago. I don’t think anyone yet made good quality washable, mold-resistant latex paint. The stuff I put on developed mold immediately. I washed it regularly, and one time….accidentally washed it with a sponge that contained bleach residue. Yep. Oh yeah…it was also the first room I’ve ever painted myself, and I did little or no wall prep. And it shows. Complete with old wallpaper paste seeping through…ew.

Finally, there is the color itself. When we first moved in, I ended up trying to match any new decorating with the existing decorating. This was a problem given that the previous owners decorated with cool colors, whereas our furniture and taste is more in the warm tones. So the purple I ended up with was a cool lavender that looks mis-matched with other things in the house. Blah, blah, blah, I know, but it’s been SO bugging me.

So after years of being irritated, armed with a can of nice mold-resistant Sherwin Williams, I finally started to re-do the room! I’m right on top of it, eh?

I’ll keep ya’ll posted…
