Denied, but satisfied.

Didn’t win any prize at the Chagrin Valley Jaycee’s Chili Cook Off. But I am pretty sure we made an impact. We had people coming back for seconds, thirds, and fourths. When people entered, they received 10 tickets to redeem for tastes of chili. There were 30 vendors. So these people decided ours was SO good that they didn’t mind “spending” a ticket.

We were required to bring 5 gallons of chili. We brought 7, and we RAN OUT. We also ran out of tasting cups multiple times, out of spoons multiple times…

We had people referring other people to come to us, restaurants there with their chilis asking us for tastes, reports that tasters were talking to other vendors about how good ours was, and to top it off, had more than a few significant people insist we were “robbed”.

So we didn’t get a new plaque, but we sure as hell have a fan club!

Was fun hanging out with my George, my dad, and my brother-in-law, and ever so much fun feeding people who like our cooking 🙂 All-in-all a fun night for charity!
