Remember way back a long time ago when I said it was time to take the tree down? Well, tonight we finally did it. Poor thing was kindling. The branches were curled, sap was flowing, and it hadn’t taken on water in probably a week.
George and I agree that this has to have been one of our better trees. Though it had a nice shape, it also had a whole random wonky branches sticking out in odd directions. It smelled particularly good as well.
Until we took it out of the water tonight. STINK!
The needles are vacuumed, the lights wrapped up, and all of the ornaments are carefully stowed in their Rubbermades.
I have more decorations to take down, but I’ll pick at that throughout the week. I want to make sure I segregate the items that I use all the time from those that may end up in a “Christmas in July” sale.
Have to stop now. It’s Wednesday. Time to sort the recyclables!
