Anxiety – Deadline Please?

Working without knowing the deadline is maddening.

The tasks required are numerous and time-consuming. It’s overwhelming…where do I start?

Well, I can’t start these things over here without knowing the deadline.

Let’s look over here then. Try these smaller projects? Sure thing…OK…wow these are not so small…each has branched at least a dozen other “small” projects…hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Oh look. While working on this, I just opened a can of worms.

Just lost an entire Saturday in the basement on a sunny summer day. Does it look like I got anything done? Well, no. Keep going…

I’ll skip today and do something more in the here-and-now. OK. Today just turned into a week.

I need a plan. If I had a deadline, I could lay out a master-plan and take productive baby steps. Until I have a plan,

I’ll

be

scattered.

Meanwhile, on a visit to the family homestead:

Here, I need to show you this closet packed ceiling to floor with memories of your sister’s and your childhood. All with intense sentimental value with no place to be stored.

One more…3 more…10 more…100 more things to view and make decisions about.

Your first baby shoes. Drawings your then 5-year-old sister did to decorate your nursery.

Stuffed animals you loved waiting for your decision…to know their fate…

Multiple gigantic Rubbermaids of family photos slowly fading away with time like the moments…the relationships…the lives.

Or maybe you just don’t care and I misjudged your character. It will probably just go in the big garage sale when I die.

Another night, no sleep. I think I’ll have a glass of wine and hug my cats.
